Day 1 PM - Old Town Area

Having just dropped the suitcase off at the hotel as we were too early to check in, we headed towards the Old Town.  A few snaps on the way but unfortunately I'd forgotten to reset my camera so they are a bit fuzzy, as well as it being an overcast, grey, day.

An "art installation" making use of old sinks.

Prague is renowned for its Christmas Markets but we hoped we've timed it right to visit before they took over the city.  Judging by this tree outside a nearby shopping mall, Christmas is beginning.

The Powder Tower, an old City gate

We saw various old cars offering sight seeing trips at rather high prices.

Much more our style

Jan Hus, a 14th century martyr.

Plenty of well looked after horses offering rides around the town.

Old Town Hall Tower

On the left hand side of the tower is an Astronomical Clock and as we neared we realised from the huge gathering of people it was about to strike.

So we hung around waiting to see what popped out of the little windows.

Answer - the 12 Apostles and wicked looking devils they were too.  Ian thought the little mice on the side would do something but I think they were just decoration.

We decided it was time for a drink so went into the nearest outside restaurant who were quite rude and only interested in serving food.  Luckily the next place along was much friendlier and more than happy to serve just drinks.

The buildings all around are quite lovely
